34. Today’s pet is a beagle named Charles Darwin, proud naturalist and faithful companion of user name bettycam. Did you know that Darwin spent nearly 44 years of his life thinking about earthworms? He wrote a book about them in 1881 titled The Formation of Vegetable Mould, Through the Action of Worms, With Obversations of Their Habits that was, at one point, a greater commercial success for him than The Origin of the Species.
Oh gosh he looks so dapper! This is the greatest thing.
