He wrote a book about them in 1881 titled The Formation of Vegetable Mould, Through the Action of Worms, With Obversations of Their Habits that was, at one point, a greater commercial success for him than The Origin of the Species.

Oh gosh he looks so dapper! This is the greatest thing.
